Global Village Institute for Appropriate Technology

Sustainable and appropriate technology organization.

Global Village is a non-profit charity created in 1974 for the purpose of researching and disseminating promising new technologies that can benefit humanity in environmentally friendly ways.

Carbon farming, transition towns, biochar, climate farming, and financial Permaculture are some of the many initiatives locally and globally.

Institute for Appropriate Technology offers instruction that includes both the technical community side of appropriate technology – building consensus, nurturing community social health and conviviality, distributing decision-making – and creating culturally-protective economic opportunities.

They work in multiple countries and languages with the primary goal of training trainers who will carry on the work in to the future, and to empower these trainers with the tools they need to network with their peers.
