FiddleHead Nursery

Sustainable farming & gardening company.

Fiddlehead Nursery began in the spring of 2012. The Nursery is run with the help of Woofers, or international farm workers who work in exchange for room, board, and education.

Plants are grown for hardiness in USDA Zone 5a, where winters reach lows of -28.9C. Only those perennials that survive the winters are sold, (unless otherwise noted).

A wide variety of unusual perennial edibles and food crops are available. All of the herbaceous plants and most of the bushes are cultivated on-site . Strictly natural ingredients are used in the nursery soil mixes and fertilizers. No pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides are used on the farm. For fertility, compost and nitrogen-fixing plants are used.
